Naby Keita is set to leave Liverpool as a free agent in the summer.

The midfielder will not be signing a fresh deal at Anfield, reports Sky Germany.

The 27-year-old is also unlikely to join Galatasaray, the report continues, while the prospect of heading back to Germany isn't ruled out.

The Guinean was subject to speculation last summer but Jurgen Klopp shut the rumours down.

Keita - who FootbalTransfer data values at €7.8m - has been a bit-part player for the Reds and has been unable to feature regularly since moving from RB Leipzig in 2018. He has been selected more often recently but the team’s form, as a whole, has faltered.

Keita played 65 minutes in the club’s 3-0 defeat to Wolves, as the January window slammed shut and Liverpool opted not to bring in a fresh face to midfield.

But while the side decided that they best wait until the summer to bring in some freshes, rivals Chelsea splashed the cash in the winter window.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Liverpool's Premier League trip to Wolves, Klopp was asked about the Blues’ spree, where they spent over £320 million on eight new players.

“I'm saying nothing without my lawyer!" Klopp quipped: "I don't understand that part of the business, what you can do, what you can't you do. it's a big number in the last two windows. The players they brought in, I didn't think once 'why did they do that?'.

" They are all really good players, so from that point of view, congratulations if you can do it. I don't understand how it's possible, but it's not for me to explain how it works. Hopefully, you all know exactly how it works, and then it's fine!"
