The Italian registered five goals and three assists for Verona in the 2020-21 Serie A season, earning him a place him Inter's squad for the following campaign.

He made 17 starts last season in all competitions, coming on as a substitute a further 25 times.

However, Dimarco has impressed in his 19 starts in this campaign, earning links to Pep Guardiola's Man City.

Cancelo to Bayern

Bayern Munich completed the signing of Joao Cancelo on loan from Manchester City in January.

Cancelo has penned a deal until the end of the season with Bayern, who have the option to make the deal permanent in the summer for €70 million.

The Portuguese international had requested to leave Man City this window after losing his first-team place at Man City and having a rumoured falling-out with manager Pep Guardiola.

It remains to be seen whether he will return to resurrect his career at the Etihad next season or indeed join Bayern permanently.

Bayern have been searching for a top right full-back for some time and it is likely he will be deployed in this position for the Bavarians, who have had a stuttering start to 2023.

Bayern chief Hasan Salihamidžić said: "We are very happy that João Cancelo will play for FC Bayern with immediate effect. We got him on loan now and in the summer we have the opportunity to sign him permanently."
