'Strip Man City's titles' - Man Utd and Arsenal fans celebrate Premier League investigation
Manchester City have been charged by the Premier League with more than 100 breaches of financial rules over a nine-year period.
It is a revelation that has left the Premier League world stunned, with the claims dating back to Roberto Mancini’s time as manager.
They face claims that they have overstated sponsorship income, doubled Mancini’s salary via a secret contract and have broken rules about approaching young players.
Man City's 10 most expensive transfers of all time
City face a possible points deduction, which would throw their title challenge into jeopardy and may even put their place in the Champions League next season under threat given the intensity of the battle to finish in the top four.
The Sun reports that City could even face expulsion from the Premier League in the most extreme case.
Unsurprisingly, there is little sympathy from their Premier League rivals, with Arsenal celebrating the fact that their Premier League title push this season has been given a major boost and Manchester United fans clamouring to get the three titles in which they finished runners-up to City credited to them instead.

No one can be surprised by Manchester City's charge sheet; they have a relatively small fan base that struggles to fill the Etihad.
Yet they top the revenue charts.

And Arsenal fans are already hoping that Chelsea could face similar sanctions going forward after a world-record spend this season.
