When does the summer transfer window open and close?

The 2025 summer transfer window is looming large and clubs across Europe are already in negotiations with a number of players as they look to finalise their business early.
The January window saw a whole host of big money transfers, with the three biggest seeing Leipzig pay €80 million for PSG's Xavi Simons, Al-Nassr splash out €77.5m for Aston Villa's Jhon Duran, and PSG themselves spend €75m for Napoli's Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
The summer transfer window is expected to see far more money being spent, especially as a number of top clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal and Real Madrid kept their powder dry in January.
Viktor Gyokeres, Victor Osimhen and Mohamed Salah could all be on the move in the summer, with the former two linked with a host of Premier League clubs, and the latter wanted by Saudi Arabia.
The dates of the summer window have also been moved around due to the Club World Cup in June.
In the summer of 2024, the Premier League flexed its financial muscle yet again, although English top flight teams spent far less than they did in 2023.
Julian Alvarez was the most expensive signing of the summer window, with the Argentina international leaving Manchester City to join Atletico Madrid for an initial fee of €75 million.
However, Kylian Mbappe was the biggest mover of the 2024 summer transfer window, as he finally completed a move to Real Madrid from Paris Saint-Germain.
