Arsenal and Liverpool battle for €37m-rated Bundesliga midfielder
Arsenal and Liverpool are set to do battle over the signature of Frankfurt star Jesper Lindstrom if the Eagles miss out on European football.
The 23-year-old has impressed in Frankfurt since his €7 million move from Brondby in 2021. Skilful and blessed with blistering pace, Lindstrom has been a big part of the Eagles' rise over the past two campaigns. His four assists in the Europa League last term contributed to his sides' success in that competition.
This season, Lindstrom has added goals more consistently to his game than in previous years, finding the back of the net nine times in 31 outings across all competitions, including the Champions League, so far.

For a time, Frankfurt were one of the Bundesliga's most exciting sides thanks in no small part to the Dane. Accordingly, his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) has exploded over the last 12 months, rising from €11.8m to an impressive €37.1m.
More recently, however, Oliver Glasner's side has slumped, and to add insult to injury, Lindstrom is currently sidelined with ankle problems.
Winless in their last four Bundesliga games, Frankfurt have dropped down to 6th in the table, and it is being reported that Lindstrom could be on his way out if Frankfurt fail to qualify for Europe.
Arsenal and Liverpool lurking
Among the many clubs monitoring the situation surrounding the Dane are Arsenal and Liverpool, according to Sport Bild. The 23-year-old, whose contract runs until 2026, would set the English giants back at least €30m.
While Arsenal are guaranteed Champions League football next season, it would be tough for Lindstrom to break into Mikel Arteta's side.
At Liverpool, meanwhile, he could replace Roberto Firmino, but the Reds are finding it tough to muster a serious challenge for the Champions League places. Other interested parties include several Italian clubs and Borussia Dortmund, who have also been eyeing Lindstrom's teammate Daichi Kamada.

Right now, Glasner's Eintracht Frankfurt are still in a European spot, but if their poor form continues and with a summer rebuild looming, Jesper Lindstrom could soon head to greener pastures.
