Big-money stars Mykhaylo Mudryk and Darwin Nunez are among the fastest players in the Premier League, but they are beaten to top spot by a less notable man from Nottingham Forest.

Famed for their explosive pace, contentious big-money arrivals Mudryk and Nunez, who ply their trade for Chelsea and Liverpool respectively, are in the top four of the Premier League's quickest players, The Sun has revealed.

Indeed, their pace and athleticism were big reasons behind the two Premier League giants parting with massive sums of money to lure these elite athletes to the English top flight. In the case of Mudryk, Chelsea reportedly paid €70 million, while the transfer of Nunez set Liverpool back some €80m.

Both haven't quite had the desired impact thus far this season, but there is clear potential there, and both are impressive sportsmen, to say the least. In fact, Mudryk ranks second in the list of the Premier League's fastest players, clocking in at an impressive 36.63 km/h.

Nunez, meanwhile, finds himself behind Newcastle's Anthony Gordon in fourth with 36.53 km/h. But who is top of the charts?

Nottingham Forest's speedster

That distinction belongs to Nottingham Forest's Brennan Johnson. The youth product and local boy, who represents Wales at the national level, plied his trade with Forest in the Championship last season, but now he's outrunning the likes of Mudryk and Nunez who cost a combined €150m.

The speedster, whose value has skyrocketed lately, currently peaking at an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €45.8m, has clocked in at 36.7 km/h this season, making him the fastest player in the English top division.

Other interesting names in the top ten include the likes of Manchester City's Erling Haaland in sixth (36.22 km/h), defensive midfielder Denis Zakaria of Chelsea ( 36.09 km/h), Arsenal's Kieran Tierney (35.99 km/h) and Gabriel Martinelli (35.85 km/h), while Manchester United's Marcus Rashford rounds off the list with 35.81 km/h.
