Klopp reveals Liverpool's 'positive progress' on summer transfer plans
Jürgen Klopp has revealed that Liverpool's summer plans made positive progress during the international break.
Liverpool are set for a major overhaul in the summer after what has been a disappointing season by their lofty standards under the German coach.
Unable to compete at the top of the Premier League and now also out of the Champions League at the quarter-finals stage, it has been a campaign to forget for the Anfield club.

Unsurprisingly, then, several new faces are expected to arrive in the summer in order to freshen up a squad that has gotten on with age and is struggling for fitness. The most pressing issue has always been the midfield. Jordan Henderson, Thiago, Fabinho, Naby Keita and certainly James Milner are not getting any younger, while starlets Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho are still too raw to lead a title charge.
To improve their fortunes, the Reds are reportedly looking to the likes of Jude Bellingham, Mason Mount, Gavi, Matheus Nunes and Joao Palhinha. Now, Jürgen Klopp has confessed that some positive developments have been made on that front.
What did Klopp say?
Asked about the international break ahead of a crunch week against Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal, Klopp said: "It was good...I couldn't plan training sessions as we didn't know who was here, so yes [I used it as time to get prepared for next season]."
The 55-year-old then revealed that major work was being done behind the scenes: "Player side, positive. There are talks, but no decisions. We are busy as you can imagine."

Looking ahead to what will be a season-defining run of fixtures given Liverpool's current position seven points off fourth, Klopp couldn't hide his excitement. "It's like a Champions League week," the German insisted, "I know we are out but playing an English team in midweek is like the Champions League."
