Ousmane Dembele would be a bargain if Manchester United activate his €50 million release clause this summer.

That is according to former Man Utd and France striker Louis Saha, who believes that his countryman would be a fantastic signing.

Dembele has been increasingly linked with a move away from Barca at the end of the season, with Man Utd one of the teams reported to be considering a move.

The winger has a release clause in his contract of €50 million, which makes him an even more enticing prospect.

What did Saha say about Dembele?

“They should explore it as it would be a bargain,” Saha told Betfred.

“I would want players that would be a guaranteed success for Manchester United and with Dembele, you’re going to get goals, you’re going to get assists but for me, he hasn’t reached his full potential and that’s frustrating to see.

“I see him as a potential wasted talent because the guy is so good and there’s no other player like him. When you look at the likes of Jadon Sancho and Ousmane competing with each other, then that’s magic competition there, oh my god. It would be a sensational frontline.”

Dembele had seemed certain to leave Barcelona last summer when his contract expired on June 30 last year.

But Dembele’s entourage reopened contract talks with Barcelona once his contract expired and eventually re-signed him to a new deal.

The new deal contained a clause that can allow him to leave for just €50m, with half of that money going to the player.

Dembele joined Barcelona in 2017 from Borussia Dortmund in a €105m deal but has struggled for fitness during much of his time at Camp Nou.

He has scored 40 goals in 178 games for the club.
