Ronaldo's friend Piers Morgan calls for Ten Hag to resign in incredible Twitter rant
Manchester United’s 7-0 defeat against Liverpool on Sunday prompted an outpouring of emotion from both sides of the divide between the two Premier League rivals.
Man Utd, in particular, were left furious and embarrassed by the outcome of the match, with manager Erik ten Hag blasting his players as “unprofessional” in the manner they haemorrhaged goals at Anfield.

One person who would not have been expected to weigh in on the match, however, was Arsenal fan Piers Morgan, who conducted that interview that led to Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract being mutually terminated by the Old Trafford club.
While Ronaldo’s departure from Man Utd has prompted an uptick in the club’s fortunes, with the highlight being the Carabao Cup victory over Newcastle that sealed the first trophy of the season, Morgan remains firmly of the opinion that Ronaldo, who is now scoring goals freely in the Saudi Pro League with Al Nassr, was mistreated by Ten Hag.

’Funny thing, karma
Rarely has that been so evident as his glee as the Red Devils capitulated on Sunday.
“Has Ten Hag resigned yet? How can any Manchester United manager survive a performance & result that catastrophically dreadful?” he took to Twitter on Monday to ask.

By this point, he had posted on Man Utd’s loss several times, notably referencing Ten Hag’s claim that he had slept soundly after Ronaldo left the club in January.
“Good luck with your sleep tonight, genius,” he said in one Tweet.
Another reads: “Anyone got some Xanax for Erik?”

“Funny thing, karma,” he also posted.
Perhaps most bizarrely of all, though, he retweeted a Ronaldo fan account of Liverpool supporters chanting Ronaldo’s name, which was a gesture clearly made in jest at Man Utd’s situation.
Man Utd’s slim hopes of Premier League glory may have been ended by their defeat to Liverpool, but they remain on course for a cup treble, while Ronaldo’s next mission sees his Al-Nassr side to travel to Al-Ittihad, whose star player is Leeds United loanee Helder Costa.
