On-loan Sevilla left-back Alex Telles looks set to return to Manchester United in the summer.

The Brazil international has been out on loan at LaLiga side Sevilla since August 2022, but reports indicate that the Spanish club won't keep him beyond this season.

Alex Telles has made 27 appearances across three competitions, racking up three assists for the side struggling for consistent form in the league. Sevilla currently sit in a disappointing 14th in the Spanish top-flight table.

The 30-year-old was kept out of World Cup 2022 action for Brazil by a lengthy injury that also saw him miss several games for Sevilla.

Telles will be prematurely reunited with the Red Devils in the Europa League as his parent club and his on-loan club are set to face each other in the competition's quarter-finals, but reports also indicate that he will be back at Old Trafford for good in the summer.

Does he have a future at Man Utd?

Sevilla reportedly do not want to sign Telles permanently, so the left-back will return to England after his loan spell.

What happens afterwards is anyone's guess, but United may try to offload the 30-year-old given his contract is up in 2024. Plus, Telles could be seen as a potential bad influence in the dressing room after a training ground bust-up last year.

Erik ten Hag also does not necessarily need any more left-backs at the club.

For now, the Brazilian is focused on Sevilla. "What I have to do is do my job in the best way possible,” Telles said at a recent press conference.

"I don't think about the future," he concluded, "because that depends on what I do now. Now, I have to play and train. I have always said that I am happy in Seville, I receive great treatment and now it is my turn to play and give my best, which is the most important thing."
