BILD has revealed that long-time Arsenal target Dominik Szoboszlai has an enticing release clause, but interested clubs will have to act fast to trigger it.

The Hungarian is one of the Bundesliga's most-exciting talents thanks to his skill and outrageous shooting technique. RB Leipzig signed Szobsozlai from sister club Red Bull Salzburg for €20 million in 2021 and the 22-year-old's Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) has skyrocketed since, now sitting at €58.7 million.

The attacking midfielder has racked up nine goals and 13 assists this season, a solid return, though one that a player of his quality can certainly improve upon. Nevertheless, he is one of Europe's hottest commodities, and has repeatedly been linked with a move to the Premier League.

Arsenal have a long-standing interest in the Hungarian, but if they actually want to secure his services they will need to move fast.

A release clause deadline

According to BILD, there is a release clause in Szoboszlai's contract, but it is only valid until July 15. The player has previously indicated that he would be open to a move.

The sum required to trigger the clause in question could also be enticing. It reportedly stands at €70m, and while that may sound quite pricy, it could prove to be good value for money down the line.

With Christopher Nkunku leaving this summer, Szoboszlai will be tasked with being the Red Bulls' main creator next term, which could, in turn, see his value rise to a point where clubs like Arsenal may rue not pulling the trigger sooner.

Despite Arsenal's long-standing interest in the Hungarian, BILD report that no clubs have made any official advances for the player, leaving the Leipzig hierarchy 'relaxed about the contract situation.' In fact, Newcastle United are said to be keener on him than the Gunners at this moment in time.
