Fernandes makes Liverpool dig after Man Utd secure Champions League
Bruno Fernandes has suggested beating Liverpool to a Champions League place has made the achievement all the sweeter.
The Manchester United star spoke after the Red Devils secured the competition following a 4-1 win over Chelsea yesterday evening.
Their win follows Newcastle’s drubbing of Brighton by the same scoreline - both will now be playing Champions League football next season.

Liverpool needed Man Utd, their arch-rivals, to lose their next two Premier League matches to stand a chance of gaining entry.
But it wasn’t to be for Jurgen Klopp’s men, who have entered the Europa League instead.
After the win over Chelsea, Fernandes spoke on the feat, while mentioning that fans would be enjoying it alot more knowing Liverpool didn’t make it.
He said: “We know it means a lot for us. It's about getting our goals completed, and we did," he told Sky Sports. "We know that they [the United fans] will be happy also for Liverpool to not be there. For us, it's not about that. It's getting the best we can for ourselves because we have to look at ourselves."
"For what we did this season, it’s great," said the Portuguese midfielder. "One trophy and we get the top four, that was our goal after deciding we couldn’t go for the Premier League. Now it’s about finishing really well and going to the FA Cup and winning," added Fernandes.
Erik ten Hag’s revolution
Man Utd have already won the Carabao Cup and they have the chance to win another domestic trophy if they beat Manchester City in next weekend's FA Cup final.
They have not been in the Champions League since 2015/16, marking a huge sign of progress for Erik ten Hag’s side.
