Ten Hag comments on England star will divide Man Utd fans

Jadon Sancho has received backing from Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag amid speculation that the winger will leave this summer.

The 23-year-old, who has six goals and three assists this season, has been linked with a move back to Borussia Dortmund.

It has been a torrid tenure at the Red Devils for Sancho, with reports suggesting that a move back to BVB could be on the cards.

Sancho’s troubles from his debut campaign have continued into this term. Under Ten Hag, Sancho was sent away for a period to get his fitness up to scratch,. While the Englishman’s physical and mental’ problems did not help matters.

But towards the end of the campaign, things are looking a little better for the attacker.

After Man Utd’s win against Chelsea, Sancho put in one of his better displays for the club.

But still speculation persists about whether he will have a role to play for the club next season.

After beating the Blues, Ten Hag came out to defend the player.

The Dutchman said: “He did very well on the right side, and I think he played a very good game today,” said Ten Hag after the game. “And I think Jadon Sancho was one of the players who [has made good] progress in this season.

“And there were many players in our squad who made good progress. I think it’s a good base to build further on.”

Ten Hag even said he believes Sancho can play on both sides. “He can do both, but I think he prefers to play on the left,” added Ten Hag. “But we have seen today he is very good on the right as well.”
