Manchester United are set to dump 12 players, including Harry Maguire and Jadon Sancho, in a mass summer clear-out as Erik ten Hag looks to build a squad in his image in his second season.

United are currently in the process of a protracted sale with the Glazer family dragging their feet in the face of bids from Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Even if United become newly cash rich before the summer transfer window slams shut, they will be restricted by Financial Fair Play, with their budget a reported £120 million regardless of whom is in control.

With Ten Hag targeting a new striker and goalkeeper at the very least, that kitty could get burned up quickly, unless United raise more capital through player sales, and this summer could see a mass exodus.

Man Utd fire sale

According to the Daily Mail, each of Eric Bailly, Donny van de Beek, Anthony Elanga, Fred, Dean Henderson, Maguire, Anthony Martial, Scott McTominay, Hannibal Mejbri, Sancho, Alex Telles and Brandon Williams is available, with Zidane Iqbal, who was also listed, having since signed for FC Utrecht.

Of those players, Sancho, Maguire and McTominay should fetch the most per FootballTransfers' in-house algorithm, the trio valued at €55.4m, €27.6m and €27.5m respectively. In any case, United would be confident of swelling their budget by at least €100m.

Atalanta's Rasmus Hojlund has emerged as a top transfer target for the No.9 role with United worried about getting dragged into a difficult negotiation with Tottenham Hotspur for Harry Kane. Hojlund is valued at €24m but it is understood Atalanta want to break their club record sale of - the €50m they received from Spurs for Cristian Romero last August.

Inter Milan's Andre Onana is their first-choice to replace David de Gea as No.1 at Old Trafford, meanwhile, although Serbia shot-stopped Djordje Petrovic, of New England Revolution, is a cheaper alternative.
