Liverpool get Fabrizio Romano ‘HERE WE GO’ to seal first major summer transfer
Liverpool will complete the transfer of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, who has given the deal his famous “here we go” confirmation.
Mac Allister’s father has been in the UK negotiating terms with the Reds since the weekend. Jurgen Klopp’s side were in a strong position to secure the transfer of the World Cup winner even at that point, with just some finishing touches needing put on the contract.

Romano reports that this has now been done and that the Argentina international will sign a five-year contract with the Reds, keeping the midfielder at Anfield until 2028.
The transfer specialist has also confirmed that Liverpool will pay “way less” than the reported £60 million fee reported by some outlets. He previously stated that Klopp’s side are getting a “very good deal” for the player.

Liverpool’s midfield plans taking shape
Liverpool’s signing of Mac Allister is the first major step in a summer of renovation for the midfield of the Anfield side.
Having been found to be weak in that area over the course of a disappointing 2022/23 season in which they finished outside the Champions League spots, Klopp is targeting his summer recruitment drive on the heart of the pitch.
The likes of Chelsea’s Mason Mount and Sporting CP’s Manuel Ugarte were linked with Liverpool but proved to be too expensive.
Instead, FootballTransfers exclusively revealed that Liverpool have three players at the top of their transfer shortlist to join the club: Nice’s Khephren Thuram, Borussia Monchengladbach’s Manu Kone and Feyenoord’s Orkun Kokcu.
Mac Allister, though, is Liverpool’s marquee summer midfield signing and Klopp will be delighted to seal the transfer before the window opens formally on June 10.
