The Blues' sporting leadership are working overtime trying to slim down the bloated squad that Todd Boehly's €600 million spending spree has left them with. Several high-profile names have already left the club. Kai Havertz has signed for Arsenal and Mateo Kovacic has joined Manchester City, while the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly, N'Golo Kante and Edouard Mendy have moved to Saudi Arabia.

More departures are expected. Romelu Lukaku and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will leave after failing to solve the club's number nine issues. Cesar Azpilicueta could return to Spain. Mason Mount will sign for Manchester United and Hakim Ziyech will also make the move to the Saudi Pro League.

Christian Pulisic is reportedly close to joining AC Milan and there he will be joined by one of his Chelsea teammates.

Loftus-Cheek to Milan

The Rossoneri have announced that Ruben Loftus-Cheek has completed a permanent move. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has put the fee involved at €16m. It spells the end of the 27-year-old's weird time at Chelsea.

The Blues academy product has always been a nearly man, a player with seemingly boundless potential but one who struggles to consistently perform. Moving to Serie A has given English players like Chris Smalling and Tammy Abraham a new lease on life and Loftus-Cheek will be hoping that his transfer will have the same effect.

Young midfielder Charlie Webster has also departed Stamford Bridge, albeit only temporarily. The exciting 19-year-old, who scored five times in Premier League 2 last term, will spend next season on loan at Eredivisie side Heerenveen.

Webster is yet to make his senior debut for the London club, but he is seen as one of the brightest prospects in Chelsea's youth set-up. He has made a couple of appearances on the Blues' first-team bench.
