Liverpool to complete ‘very good deal’ next week – Fabrizio Romano
Liverpool are on the verge of clinching the transfer of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton in what Fabrizio Romano describes as “a very good deal” for the Anfield side.
Romano has detailed where negotiations stand for the World Cup-winning midfielder, who has attracted interest from many of the Premier League’s biggest clubs over the course of the last year.
Liverpool, who are in dire need of upgrading their midfield options after a turgid season by the lofty standards of Jurgen Klopp, are getting close to a deal, with Romano revealing that Mac Allister’s father has flown to England to conduct transfer talks that should be completed quickly.

FootballTransfers understands that Khephren Thuram, Manu Kone and Orkun Kokcu are all further midfield targets for the Reds, but they are set to land their first major summer signing soon.
“Carlos the father [and agent] of the player, is in England this weekend. The mission is to complete negotiations for Alexis Mac Allister next week,” Romano revealed via his YouTube channel.
“We know Liverpool are absolutely the front runners. They have to complete some final details of the contract of the player and then Alexis will become a new Liverpool player. They have an agreement in principle on the length of the contract, the salary. It’s about some final clauses, and then he will agree personal terms and join Liverpool.”

Mac Allister’s Liverpool transfer fee
Romano followed this update with more excellent news for Liverpool supporters, revealing that Mac Allister’s transfer fee may be far lower than expected.
“Liverpool will play the release clause of Brighton. And trust me, if you see reports of £70 million, £65m or £60m – no, it’s way less than this, the release clause. It’s a very good deal for Liverpool in this case if they are able to complete everything,” he added.
“The timing is very clear. Next week for Alexis Mac Allister’s transfer.”
FootballTransfers’ algorithm suggested that Mac Allister is worth up to £36m (€41.5m), though that figure has increased four-fold since October and will take another sizeable jump when he completes his move to Liverpool.
