Man Utd takeover: 'Glazers won't sell'
The Manchester United takeover saga has all been a ruse to bring in more money, according to commentator Sam Matterface.
The Glazers, the Red Devils' unpopular current owners, announced seven months ago that they would be exploring new investment opportunities, which has since led to one of the biggest footballing sagas in recent memory.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS have been battling for ownership of United with Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim, but no resolution has as yet been found. The latter, in fact, has made the Glazers five different offers, yet it still isn't known whether he actually is the favourite to get ownership of the club.
Now, ITV commentator Sam Matterface has cast doubt on whether the Glazers will sell at all.

What did Matterface say?
In conversation with Perry Groves on talkSPORT, Matterface gave his opinion on the takeover saga and he made some explosive claims. Groves kicked off by saying that "Manchester United fans would rather just sell the club, get it done. Get it done and dusted, whether it's Sir Jim Ratcliffe or Sheikh Jassim."
"Just get it done," the former Arsenal player continued, "and then we know we can move forward. At the moment, the club is in limbo. This has been going on for seven months. Sheikh Jassim has put in five bids."

Matterface then responded: "What does that tell you? I think what it tells you is what I said to you when it first happened - I don't think they'll sell it [Manchester United]."
"They never said they were going to sell it. They didn't put it up for sale, they actually said they were going to be looking for strategic alternatives for investment, including a full sale."
"So they opened offers for people to come in and say 'yeah we'll buy it, we'll do this, we'll do that, or we'll give you some money or invest a certain proportion'."
"But I think, what they're trying to do, is get a huge amount of revenue into the club but at the same time retain a portion of the club."
