Man Utd Transfer News: Sheikh Jassim LOVES Mbappe, £100m Rice SWOOP and Neville BLASTS Glazers
The takeover battle at Old Trafford rumbles on with Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe the leading bidders to acquire the club from the Glazers.
We have already reported that the Qatari Sheikh has held talks with Kylian Mbappe about the possibility of moving to Man Utd IF he wins that takeover battle.
And now Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has explained Jassim's thought process when it comes to the PSG megastar.
He told GiveMeSport: "[He is] Tempted, yes. It’s just such a big if, though, isn’t it?
“It’s such a big if because this takeover saga just rambles on and on and on and you’ve got to have a degree of sympathy for Erik ten Hag because we’re talking about, you know, the likes of Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe, can United go in for them?"
Man Utd plot £100m Rice SWOOP with Maguire as MAKEWEIGHT
News of a huge potential move by Erik ten Hag, in the shape of a reported £100m swoop for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.
Arsenal currently lead the race to sign the England star - and have reportedly had a second bid rejected. That was worth £75m plus £15m in add-ons.
While the Gunners are expected to return with a third offer, and Man City are also monitoring the situation, now we have Man Utd adding to a terrific race.
The Telegraph claims United are ready to put together a £100m package which could include the likes of England defender Harry Maguire or Scotland midfielder Scott McTominay as a makeweight.
Harry Kane DESPERATE to make Man Utd move
Harry Kane is desperate to land a dream move to Man Utd as Erik ten Hag continues his search for a new striker this summer.
Kane played for England at Old Trafford earlier this week, and widespread reports suggests he wants to play their every week next season. In a red shirt.
The Daily Mail says the 29-year-old Kane is hoping Man Utd will rekindle their interest in him, and that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will reduce his price tag to allow that to happen.

Tottenham want a massive £100m for Kane, which United are unlikely to pay with only one year remaining on his current contract.
Kane hopes a reduction to around £80m would bring the Red Devils back to the negotiating table, so now we wait to see if Levy will give ground.
Levy of course risks losing Kane for nothing next summer if he doesn't sell now, while for the player it might be the last chance of his dream move.
Kane has also been strongly linked with European giants Real Madrid and PSG.

Gary Neville blasts 'embarrassing' Glazers over takeover saga
That takeover saga of course is taking up a massive amount of column inches this summer - it threatens to ruin any chance of Man Utd acquiring world stars during this window.
And former United star and current TV pundit Gary Neville has unleashed a furious attack on the American owners for the way they have handled it.
Speaking to BBC 5Live, he said: "Embarrassing… But it’s what they have done, drag everything out, it's always in their best interests and not in the interests of the football club.

EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal HIJACKED Man Utd Timber move
Arsenal hijacked Jurrien Timber from Man Utd and Liverpool, FootballTransfers has learned.
The news broke on Tuesday that Arsenal have tabled a £30 million bid for the Ajax defender.
Ajax are requesting £50m for the 22-year-old, but there is optimism in north London about a successful conclusion to negotiations. Personal terms have already been agreed in principle.
And FootballTransfers understands that Arsenal began negotiations for Timber when they learned that Liverpool and Manchester United were stepping up their interest in the centre-back.
It is a similar scenario to the summer of 2022 when Arsenal were on the receiving end of a transfer hijack involving Ajax. On that occasion, United move in to sign Lisandro Martinez when Arsenal were in command.
Timber is pushing Ajax for a move to Arsenal, which adds to the optimism at the Emirates.
Man Utd in SHOCK bid for Champions League final star
Man Utd have spoken to Inter Milan about the possible transfer of nascent left-back Federico Dimarco, according to reports.
Erik ten Hag is keen to bolster his squad this summer after leading United to the EFL Cup and a third-place finish in the Premier League last season - his first in the job.
Although he has two left-backs in his first-team squad in Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, the former has increasingly been used as cover at centre-back while the latter has struggled to convince since his €15 million arrival from Feyenoord last summer. No DiMarco it appears is a real option.

"The Italy international was one of the Champions League's revelations this season and is seen as one of Inter's most marketable assets."
Guardiola: Cancelo COULD have gone to Man Utd
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has admitted that he would have allowed Joao Cancelo to go on loan to Manchester United.
The full-back was loaned to Bayern Munich in January – but the destination didn’t ultimately matter, according to Guardiola.
An integral member of City’s 2020/21 and 2021/22 Premier League title-winning sides, Cancelo was left unhappy by his lack of game time during the first half of the 2022/23 season and, in the words of his manager, simply ‘had to go’ in the winter transfer window.
Speaking recently explained the circumstances of Cancelo’s exit. He said: “The reality was that we decided that he had to leave and we didn't care where he was going, even if he wanted to go to United, which is our rival.”
Promising star Zidane Iqbal LEAVING Man Utd for just €1m
Man Utd are set to sell promising midfielder Zidane Iqbal to Dutch side FC Utrecht for just €1m.
In a move which is likely to enrage critics of the Glazers even more, the Red Devils are apparently setting for a paltry fee for a player who appears to have a big future.
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, the player has completed a medical ahead of his move to the Netherlands.
