Timber's brother CONFIRMS Arsenal move
Jurrien Timber's brother, Shamier, has confirmed on his Instagram that the Ajax star is signing for Arsenal.
It has been an open secret since last week, but it appears to have now been confirmed: Jurrien Timber is moving to Arsenal. Ajax accepted the Gunners' €40 million bid that includes a further €5m in easily reachable bonuses. The Dutchman had already agreed personal terms beforehand.
A versatile defender, the signing of Timber was a priority for Mikel Arteta, Edu and company as the Spaniard was keen to add another player who is capable of featuring at right-back to his team that finished runners-up in the Premier League last term.

An official announcement has not yet been made by the club, but Shamier Timber, Jurrien's brother, has now confirmed the move on his Instagram Stories. The story is a picture of a poster that features Timber in an Arsenal kit and text that reads: "Jurrien's goodbye party! See you in the streets of London."
Arsenal's summer business
Timber is the third of Arsenal's big summer signings. Kai Havertz has already been announced as a Gunner following his €70m move from Chelsea.
A deal to sign Declan Rice for what will be a British record transfer fee was struck afterwards and the news of the agreement between Ajax and Arsenal for Timber soon followed.

Expectations of these new signings will be sky-high considering that they combine for an outlay well in excess of €200m. Anything other than challenging Manchester City again next season must be considered a failure.
Yet the signings of Timber and Rice may not be the end of the Gunners' spending this summer. Southampton's Romeo Lavia is still being eyed as another potential midfield arrival and signing him - or someone else in his position - will become a priority if Thomas Partey is sold.
