Chelsea's nearly man FINALLY set for permanent transfer
A story of unfulfilled potential, Callum Hudson-Odoi's Chelsea career is finally coming to an end.
Like Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who recently signed for AC Milan for €16 million, the winger will go down as one of Chelsea's great nearly men. A player with seemingly limitless potential, Hudson-Odoi never managed to properly win himself a regular starting spot in the Blues' senior team, thanks also in part due to fitness issues.
Only in 2020/21 did he play more than 1000 minutes in the Premier League, recording two goals and three assists along the way. At one point, he was billed as the heir to Eden Hazard - and he occasionally showed that he has the necessary talent - and linked with Bayern Munich, but living up to the hype was easier said than done.

In search of game time, Hudson-Odoi joined Bayer Leverkusen on loan last term, but to no avail. He mostly featured as a substitute and rarely showed the form that once made him one of England's biggest prospects. Despite the Bundesliga seeming an ideal league for him to thrive in, the 22-year-old was mostly an onlooker during Leverkusen's topsy-turvy campaign.
A new chapter at Fulham
Now, he will try to restart his career at Fulham, according to Sky Sports. The Londoners were one of the surprise packages of last season and they are ready to take a punt on Hudson-Odoi, whose Chelsea exit has become inevitable in recent weeks.
The above-mentioned report states that "discussions centre on a fee and structure with personal terms not expected to be a problem." With just one year left, Chelsea are keen to cash in on their former prodigy.

At just 22, it's far from over for Callum Hudson-Odoi, but it will take one hell of a resurgence for him to live up to the hype that once surrounded him.
