Maurico Pochettino appears dissatisfied with Chelsea’s options in the centre-forward department, despite the recent signings of Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson.

Nkunku’s £52m (€60m) arrival from RB Leipzig makes him the Blues’ most expensive acquisition of the summer so far, while Jackson joined from Villarreal in a £32m (€37m) deal.

But if Pochettino’s recent words are anything to go buy, he wants the club to do more attacking business before the end of the transfer window to bolster his options.

Speaking after Chelsea’s 5-0 pre-season friendly win over Wrexham in North Carolina on Wednesday (July 19), the Argentine said:

“I think for the possibility today and the different players we have available and I think it’s a position we decide today… we only have Jackson and him [Nkunku] with the possibility to play as a striker”

Nkunku came off the bench to replace Jackson at half-time, scoring the Blues’ fourth goal against the League Two outfit.

Plenty of business still to be done?

Could Chelsea give Pochettino some more weapons to add to his armoury up front, then? Well, they have been linked with both JuventusDusan Vlahovic and Montpellier’s Elye Wahi.

Juve could well offload Vlahovic as they try to make €140m in profit amid financial difficulties; the Serie A giants have reportedly slapped a £68m (£59m) price tag on the Serbian international.

Meanwhile, the Blues are said to have started tentative talks over a move for Wahi – who scored 19 goals in 33 Ligue 1 appearances last term.

This comes as Chelsea continue to try and sell Romelu Lukaku following his disastrous return to Stamford Bridge; the Belgian is a target for Juventus and Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal.
