The Nigerian striker has been linked with a move to both Chelsea and Manchester United in recent months, but he was priced out of a Premier League transfer by Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis.

He boasted that only Paris Saint-Germain could offer to pay the club’s €200m valuation of Osimhen, effectively ruling out a summer move.

Instead, Chelsea signed Villarreal’s Nicolas Jackson and Man Utd have now agreed a deal to buy Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta.

However, Napoli will now be wary of Saudi Arabia’s interest in Osimhen following a €130m offer from Al-Hilal.

Il Mattino have reported the bid has been immediately rejected by Napoli, with the club hopeful of Osimhen putting pen to paper on a new deal. In fact, the reports states that the 24-year-old is close to signing a new contract in Naples amid questions surrounding his future.

Al-Hilal’s impressive business

Al-Hilal have already been the most active Saudi Pro League club this summer in terms of high-profile arrivals and currently possess four of the five most expensive players in the league’s history - Malcom (€60m), Ruben Neves (€55m), Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (€40m) and Kalidou Koulibaly (€23m).

They also bid for Moussa Diaby, before the Bayer Leverkusen star decided to join Unai Emery’s Aston Villa, while their most eye-catching pursuit was that of Lionel Messi, who rejected their advances to sign for MLS side Inter Miami.

The Saudi Pro League club remain hopeful of signing PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe too, after their €300m bid for the Frenchman was accepted by the Parisians.

However, Mbappe himself has not agreed to the deal, despite being offered the chance to earn €700m over just one season. Al-Hilal would reportedly also allow Mbappe to join Real Madrid on a free transfer in 2024.
