Man Utd FINALLY close in on Onana transfer
Manchester United are on the verge of sealing a deal to sign Andre Onana, according to various reports.
The Red Devils finally have their David De Gea replacement. It became clear during the bygone season that the Spaniard was not cut out for Erik ten Hag's style of play and the Dutchman seemed to agree, despite his assertions to the contrary. United reneged on their contract proposal made to De Gea and he left the club as a free agent.
Signing a new shot-stopper became the highest priority and Andre Onana the number-one target. But the Cameroonian is much more than just solid between the sticks. Onana is a former Ten Hag player and intimately familiar with the ex-Ajax boss' philosophy. No wonder, then, that the Dutchman was keen on reuniting with his former number one.

Negotiating a deal with Inter proved tricky, with the Italian giants even publicly expressing their frustration about how the talks were proceeding at one point. Manchester United, operating on a restricted budget due to Financial Fair Play and takeover uncertainty, were trying to lowball the Nerrazzuri.
Now, however, a deal is finally close to being struck.
Onana on his way to Manchester
According to Fabrizio Romano and Nizaar Kinsella, the Red Devils and Inter are once again holding talks and there is a lot of optimism surrounding the negotiations.
The latter reports that 'the expectation is that the deal will be done under £50 million' and that 'Onana to Manchester United is close.' This development is unsurprising as it has been widely reported that both parties want to close the deal by the end of the week.
