Onana OFFICIALLY announces Man Utd transfer
Andre Onana has officially announced his Manchester United transfer on Instagram.
The Cameroonian shot-stopper has been the protagonist of one of the summer's biggest transfer sagas. Negotiations had dragged on longer than United would have liked, but in the end, the Red Devils got their man - and their David de Gea replacement.
Signing a new goalkeeper was high up on Erik ten Hag's summer agenda, though he perhaps did not anticipate that he would end up reuniting with his former Ajax number one. Indeed, as the season was still ongoing, the expectation was that the Manchester club would look for someone to compete with De Gea rather than an out-and-out replacement.

But the Spaniard's limitations had become abundantly clear over the course of the campaign and despite Ten Hag publicly putting his faith in the long-time servant, the Dutchman was ultimately convinced that it was time to move on. United reneged on their contract proposal and De Gea ended up leaving as a free agent.
This made signing Onana imperative so as to avoid going into the season without a designated number one.
Onana announces move
After already confirming his transfer to Italian media in recent days, Andre Onana has now officially announced that he is joining United on his Instagram account.
"I never imagined that a farewell would be so hard," Onana wrote "A year ago I became a Nerazzurro, many people told me that this club and this city had something special. Now I can confirm it. In my first days as a Nerazzurro I realised that this is a family, that being Interisti is a way of understanding life."

"I fell in love with San Siro, la Curva and the city. Now the circumstances are right for me to start a new journey in Manchester. I do it with great enthusiasm, but knowing that I will miss you. Eternal gratitude to all the Interisti. You make this club great."
"Maybe one day our paths will cross again, but now it’s time to face new challenges and cheer you on from afar. Players come and go, but the club always remains, and Inter is above everything and everyone."
