Manchester United are planning to 'concretely move' for Sofyan Amrabat at the weekend, according to Italian media.

Though the Red Devils have all but wrapped up the transfer of Andre Onana from Inter, their raiding of Serie A is far from over. Negotiations with Atalanta over a deal for Rasmus Hojlund remain ongoing and Sofyan Amrabat could be the next talent from the Italian league to be courted by the Manchester club.

As we have exclusively reported, the idea is to complete the Onana deal first before moving on to getting Hojlund over the line, and then the focus will be on Amrabat.

Florence-based outlet Corriere Fiorentino now claims, however, that the feeling at Fiorentina is that United could move for the Moroccan earlier than anticipated. In fact, they could make their first move as early as this weekend.

Man Utd to 'concretely move'

The Italian paper reports that "for now, no offers are arriving but the feeling is that Manchester United can move concretely over the weekend once Onana's arrival from Inter has been archived."

United are not alone in eyeing a move for Amrabat, however. Corriere dello Sport writes that West Ham United are also in the race to sign him.

"Currently," relays Labaro Viola, "the Moroccan player does not seem willing to accept the offer from the London club or even to resume work at Viola Park [Fiorentina's training ground]. [President Rocco] Commisso doesn't make discounts, he continues to ask for €30 million."

Amarabat currently boasts an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €20m after leading Morocco to the semi-final stage of the 2022 World Cup and Fiorentina to the final of the Conference League. Whether United will be able to afford all three of Onana, Hojlund and Amarabat remains to be seen given their restricted budget.
