Newcastle are set to make a €90 million offer for Napoli sensation Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

That is according to the Corriere dello Sport, which reports that Newcastle have identified the Georgian as the ideal replacement for Allan Saint-Maximin, who is set to leave this summer.

Newcastle have been shopping in Italy this summer, having already signed Sandro Tonali for €70m from AC Milan earlier this transfer window.

FootballTransfers also exclusively revealed last week that Newcastle have made an approach for Inter Milan wing-back Federico Dimarco.

However, a deal for Kvaratskhelia appears very unlikely as Napoli have no intention of selling this summer.

The Partenopei are already losing a key player in Kim Min-Jae to Bayern Munich and are facing a lot of interest in star striker Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia are unanimously considered the number one and number two players in Serie A last season, respectively, as Napoli won the Scudetto.

Kvaratskhelia’s brilliant season for Napoli

Kvaratskhelia moved to Napoli from Dinamo Batumi last summer for €10m – and that proved to be the bargain of the season.

He scored 14 goals and assisted 14 in all competitions. He delivered a string of brilliant performances, including tearing Juventus apart 5-1 in January and Liverpool 4-1 in the Champions League last September.

Kvaratskhelia was a childhood Real Madrid fan and has often said that it is his dream to play for the Blancos one day.

The 22-year-old has also been linked to Manchester City but the feeling in Italy is that he will stay at Napoli for at least one more season.
