CONFIRMED: Lucas Moura in talks with Liga MX club CF Monterrey
Former Tottenham attacker and free agent Lucas Moura is in talks with the Liga MX club C.F. Monterrey over a possible move.
The Brazilian left Spurs as a free agent and is now in discussion with the Mexican side. We are told that there has been intense dialogue between Moura’s representatives but nothing has been agreed at this stage.
Moura started his career with São Paulo in Brazil before making a high-profile move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2013.

He joined Spurs in 2018 after a successful spell in France, where he helped the Premier League outfit reach the Champions League final with a dramatic hat-trick against Ajax in the semi-finals.
Reports have suggested that Moura would be open to a move back to America, with clubs in the MLS also linked to the veteran.
Moura left Spurs at the end of last season. He left an emotional goodbye to the fanbase after five years in north London.
It’s also believed that there are clubs in Saudi Arabia who are keen on the player, who would be available to sign on a free transfer.
He posted on Instagram: “I can’t believe it’s time to say goodbye. “I don’t have the words to explain how grateful I am for having had the opportunity to defend this badge. Thank you very much Spurs family, God bless you all. I will always love you. #COYS#ThanksJESUS.”

Moura on his magical moment
Speaking about his hat-trick against Ajax, he wrote in Players Tribune: “For sure, you cannot think clearly in a moment like that. There is this explosion of emotions inside of you that you don’t know how to handle. I didn’t know how to celebrate.
"When the game was over, I just fell to the floor and cried. I thanked God. I felt this huge sense of gratitude, as if I had received an enormous gift. Everyone came over and hugged me. Inexplicable, man. Seriously, I don’t know how it happened. Ask Him.”
