Romano reveals ‘deal on’ for Arsenal and Portuguese star
Arsenal full-back Nuno Tavares could leave the club for Nottingham Forest, with the Premier League club having made a formal bid to sign the 23-year-old, according to football transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners are open to Tavares leaving the club, with the Portuguese having fallen to fourth in the pecking order at left-back behind Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jurrien Timber and Kieran Tierney.
He spent last season on loan at Marseille, where he earned regular first-team football but did not do enough to convince the Ligue 1 side to sign him on a permanent basis.

Now back at the Emirates, Romano reports that the Portugal U21 international Tavares could soon be on his travels against, with Nottingham Forest targeting a deal.
“Nottingham Forest submit formal proposal to sign Arsenal left-back Nuno Tavares on a permanent deal,” Romano states on Twitter.
“Forest trying top signing as new full-back as negotiations are still going, also on the player side.
“Deal on.”

What is Nuno Tavares’ asking price?
Arsenal are targeting a deal worth around £21 million (€25m) for Nuno Tavares, according to reports from Tuttomercato in July, when West Ham and Galatasaray were both interested in the player
Their negotiating position, though, is weaker than it was six weeks ago, with Tavares’ status in the squad clearly extremely peripheral while it is also known that Mikel Arteta needs more finances in order to fund any incoming transfers before the end of the summer window.
Tavares has an Estimated Transfer Value of €15m, which is down from his peak valuation of around €18m, achieved during his stay with Marseille when he was earning regular game time.
It may well be that if Nottingham Forest are successful in their approach, the initial sum they pay is closer to that figure than the one Arsenal are demanding.
