Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been left 'annoyed' by reports linking him to a summer move.

The Georgian talent played a stunning role as Napoli stormed to their first Serie A title in 33 years last season. As such, his stocks have risen massively and he has become a hot property in the European market.

Indeed, many clubs have been credited with an interest in the 22-year-old. On July 31, FootballTransfers exclusively reported that Arsenal were weighing up a move for the attacking midfielder, believing that their good relationship with new Napoli sporting director Mauro Meluso could make a deal possible.

Meluso had previously recommended Jakub Kiwior to the Gunners who duly signed the Pole last year. It would take a massive amount of money to prise Kvaratskhelia away from the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, though, and given that Arsenal have already splashed the cash this summer, spending more than €230 million on transfers, a deal would be more realistic further down the line.

As for the man himself, he is said to be less than pleased with talk of a potential departure.

Kvaratskhelia 'annoyed'

According to Italian outlet Il Mattino, Kvaratskhelia is annoyed by reports linking him to Arsenal. "He didn't falter when he learned of the interest of Newcastle, the English club owned by the [Saudi] PIF. He is annoyed by the new whispers that speak of Arsenal: for Napoli he is untouchable, he always has been. For everyone, the answer will be that he is non-transferable."

"He is backed by [Napoli president Aurelio] De Laurentiis who appreciates everything about him: his style, his grace, his education," writes the paper. Indeed, De Laurentiis is trying to tie Kvaratskhelia down to a new and improved contract.

Napoli are currently in the process of fending off interest from Al-Hilal in Victor Osimhen, having already rejected a €140m offer, and they are ready to do the same for Kvaratskhelia.
