Chelsea’s squad is set to be transformed further in the days ahead, with football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano announcing that the Stamford Bridge club will be altered thanks to the arrival of two new players, plus the departure of one.

The Blues have already spent €323 million on seven different signings this summer – including €116m alone on Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo – but they are willing to go big in the transfer market this week.

Romeo Lavia is set to arrive from Southampton, with the midfielder having picked Chelsea ahead of Liverpool in a transfer that echoes Caicedo’s to some extent.

Romeo Lavia to Chelsea, here we go! Deal agreed between clubs on final fee short of £60m [€70m] add-ons included — structure also agreed,” he tweeted.

“Lavia will undergo medical tests this week, just informed by clubs that the agreement has been reached.

“Romeo said yes to Chelsea on Monday.”

On top of this, Romano has reiterated that Santos youngster Deivid Washington will arrive in a deal worth €20m. He gave the teenage striker a “here we go” on Monday and has doubled down on this announcement by confirming that the player has signed his Chelsea contract and has completed his medical.

Lewis Hall to leave

Romano has indicated, meanwhile, that left-back Lewis Hall is set to leave Chelsea this summer, albeit on a loan basis.

The promising youngster could depart for Newcastle, although Crystal Palace are still holding out hope that a deal could be completed.

“Newcastle are keen on signing Lewis Hall from Chelsea as new full-back — as Crystal Palace deal is in stand-by,” Romano said.

Hall signed new six-year deal at Chelsea but could leave on loan. Not easy to find way due to FFP but Newcastle interest is genuine.”

Newcastle have previously been linked with Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney and Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella as they seek a transfer that will shore up the left of their defence.
