Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has delivered a withering assessment of one of his former Liverpool team-mate's prowess on the training pitch.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, 30, left Liverpool for Besiktas this summer after six years at Anfield, after seeing his final seasons at the club severely affected by injury.

He is now hoping for a fresh start in Turkey, while remaining close to ex-Reds colleagues like full-back Andy Robertson.

Robertson may be a fixture in the Liverpool first team, but Oxlade-Chamberlain claims that he does not always shine away from the match-day cameras.

"Yeah, he’s possibly the worst I’ve ever played with in a rondo," the midfielder told the Tubes and Ange Golf Life YouTube channel.

"You watch him in a rondo… I don’t know how he’s so good at football. Honestly, it’s disgusting to watch. And I’ll say that with chest on camera

"Honestly, I say it to him all the time. He’ll admit it, he’s awful in a rondo! His hips don’t move great, so anything that’s a stretch, he’s falling over.

"He’s just not nice in a rondo! No flair about him in a rondo."

'Horrible on the pitch'

Robertson certainly has not let that stand in the way of a brilliant career at Liverpool, where he has established a reputation as one of the best full-backs in the game since moving from Hull City in 2017.

According to Oxlade-Chamberlain, he also has the larger than life personality to go with his talents.

"He’s not what I expected either, from playing against him at Hull. I’m the type of player, on the pitch, mid-game, I can give the opposition a bit, but in a friendly, jokey way," he added.

“And I was always on the right wing against Robbo, he never really gave me anything. He’s a bit horrible on the pitch. I’ve turned up to Liverpool and the guy doesn’t shut up, honestly.

"He comes in the dressing room, physio room, canteen, you hear him before you see him guaranteed."
