Captain America to save Liverpool after Caicedo transfer snub?
Liverpool could move for Leeds’ Tyler Adams after missing out on Moises Caicedo to Chelsea.
Caicedo joined the Blues from Brighton on Monday for an initial £100m, just three days after the Reds had had a British-record £111m bid for the Ecuadorian accepted.
Chelsea are also closing in on another Liverpool target, Southampton’s Romeo Lavia, meaning Jurgen Klopp and co’s search for a new defensive midfielder goes on.

According to 90min, Liverpool are among a number of clubs keen on Adams, 24, whose relegation clause became applicable as Leeds went down last season.
The news comes as BBC Sport report that Bournemouth want to activate the USA captain’s £20m buyout option.
Adams joined Leeds from RB Leipzig last summer and made 24 Premier League appearances for the Whites before his campaign was curtailed by a hamstring injury – from which he is still working his way back.
Indeed, Leeds boss Daniel Farke recently said that the former New York Red Bulls player may not be fit until after September’s international break.

Liverpool’s big problem
That short wait for Adams to return to fitness is hardly going to put off any suitors, though, and there could be an intense battle for his signature as we get closer and closer to transfer deadline day (September 1).
Chelsea themselves had been linked with a move for Adams – who was named U.S. Soccer’s Male Player of the Year in 2022 – but, assuming they get a deal for Lavia over the line, it’s fair to say that probably won’t come to fruition.
Liverpool’s need for solidity in the middle in the park was alarmingly obvious as they were carved open with ease during Sunday’s season-opening 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
