Transfer domino: Man Utd to confirm NEW signing as star FINALLY leaves
Manchester United are set to announce the signing of Altay Bayindir with Dean Henderson's exit imminent.
The first piece of the Red Devils' small transfer domino is about to fall. Dean Henderson's move to Crystal Palace has been finalised and only an official announcement remains to be published.
This means that Man Utd, in turn, will soon unveil Turkish shot-stopper Altay Bayindir as a new signing. The former Fenerbahce number one has been in England for several days already completing his medical.
It took a while to get to this stage. Henderson was initially said to be close to returning to Nottingham Forest, where he enjoyed a successful loan stint last season. Forest, however, eventually signed Arsenal's Matt Turner, which enabled Crystal Palace to swoop in for Henderson.
Talks over Bayindir's transfer weren't completed in a particularly swift fashion either. Turkish media reported at the beginning of August that Man Utd had submitted an official offer, but then two weeks of radio silence followed. The deal was eventually wrapped up, however, and the Red Devils now have their new backup for Andre Onana.
Man Utd's budget
An underappreciated aspect of this transfer domino could be that it may, potentially, give Man Utd hope of bringing in a new midfielder after all. Outgoings have been slow and United have not been able to raise the necessary funds to sign Erik ten Hag's priority target Sofyan Amrabat.
The Red Devils are now set to bank £15 million plus a potential £5m in add-ons from Henderson's sale, however, while Bayindir will only cost around £6m. The money raised from Henderson's exit alone won't be enough to fund a move for Amrabat - or any other midfielder - but it is a start.

If someone like Scott McTominay were to depart as well, United could yet launch a late push for Amrabat before the deadline, but time is running out.
