Aston Villa have joined the list of clubs keeping tabs on Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho, who continues to be linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer.

Sancho joined Man Utd from Borussia Dortmund for £72.9m (€85m) in 2021, but it’s fair to say the England winger hasn’t provided value for money.

And, having struggled to find his groove with the 13-time Premier League champions, the time might just have come for the the 23-year-old to leave for his next challenge.

According to CaughtOffside, Villa are weighing up a swoop for Sancho, with multiple other clubs from the Premier League and abroad also said to be interested in the former Manchester City youngster.

Sancho was linked with a switch to Tottenham early in the transfer window, but no such move materialised and he has remained with Man Utd to feature regularly in their pre-season schedule.

Villa have already done some hugely impressive business ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, bringing in the likes of Youri Tielemans and Moussa Diaby as they prepare for their first full season under Unai Emery.

Man Utd’s growing exodus

Meanwhile, United have been looking to offload players in order to raise funds for more signings of their own.

Sancho’s England teammate Harry Maguire looks set to be the next to depart, after West Ham agreed a deal worth around £30m for the centre-back – and Scott McTominay could also be on his way to the London Stadium.

Our in-house Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) model currently rates Sancho at €53m (£45.7m), which falls in line with Man Utd’s rumoured valuation.

All eyes will be on Erik ten Hag’s squad for Monday night’s Premier League opener at home to Wolves to see if Sancho features.
