Greenwood gets INTERNATIONAL call after Man Utd departure

Manchester United's Mason Greenwood could be offered a second shot at international football by an unlikely source, according to a report.
The disgraced forward will leave the Red Devils, having not played for the club since his arrest in January 2022. United have, at last, made the correct decision and made it clear that the 21-year-old does not have a future at Old Trafford.
The decision was greeted with approval from many quarters, including by club legend Gary Neville, but not without criticism over the handling of the situation. It needed widespread public outrage to convince the Man Utd higher-ups that Greenwood should not be brought back into the fold.

“They’ve finally got there. It was clear from day one, for me and anybody who saw the evidence that was initially released, that he wouldn’t play for Manchester United again," Neville said.
“I would say that the process in getting there has been pretty horrible. When you have significant and difficult situations like this, it requires an authoritative leadership, that comes the very top and Manchester United don’t have that.
Greenwood's second chance
In light of Man Utd's announcement that the club and Greenwood will go separate ways, transfer rumours have mushroomed. Steven Gerrard called reports linking the forward to his Al-Ettifaq 'fake news' on Instagram, while Roma reportedly distanced themselves from making an offer as Jose Mourinho does not want to be associated with Greenwood.
Championship clubs, though interested, also ultimately decided against making an approach. The expectation is that Greenwood will continue his club career abroad, with Italy and Turkey likely destinations, according to Fabrizio Romano.
On the international stage, it appears unlikely that the 21-year-old will gear up for England again, but the Daily Mail claims that Jamaica could offer him an unlikely second chance. Greenwood is eligible and there is said to be interest in him from the FA.

Despite having already played a competitive fixture for England, Greenwood could yet make a switch to the Reggae Boyz, but allowing Greenwood to suit up in Jamaican colours would further damage the reputation of an FA that has already been in hot water for years for its treatment of the women's national team.
