Rio praises Man Utd for avoiding ‘BULLSH*T’ problem in ‘refreshing’ transfer window
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has praised the transfer policy of Erik ten Hag and his team during the summer, praising them for avoiding any “bullsh*t” transfer sagas.
Man Utd could have been drawn into a long and public saga linking them to leading players like Harry Kane, but while transfer progress has been slow and, on the whole, rather frustrating for Ten Hag, who wanted to get his leading targets in before preseason began, the story has not been dramatized in the media.
Ferdinand says that there has been too much nonsense printed about the Red Devils in the past, and the club has not fuelled such sagas this summer.

Speaking to The Athletic, Rio picked out Kane in particular as one player Man Utd did well to avoid.
“They have been very decisive. They had their targets and went out and got them done early.

“We haven’t had the bullsh*t we’ve had in past years where everything becomes a saga and it is always a will-they-won’t-they scenario. It has been refreshing.
“Man Utd quickly saw they weren’t going to get Harry Kane or that it was going to be a prolonged saga, so there is no point doing that. I like that approach.”
Ferdinand on Hojlund
Rio believes that Ten Hag has done well to sign Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund, whose move to Man Utd is expected to be made official at the weekend.
“I have seen a bit of Hojlund and I like what I see,” Ferdinand, who played 455 times for the Red Devils, said. “He has all the attributes you want in a player: he is mobile, quick, aggressive and can finish.
“An added bonus is that it seems he supports Manchester United. But he is a young player and you have to give him time.”
