Man Utd Transfer News: Ansu Fati UPDATE, Amrabat LATEST, Glazers sale TWIST
Manchester United are on red alert after Ansu Fati decided that his future lay away from Barcelona.
The wing wizard and former academy star has endured an injury-ravaged spell at Camp Nou, and had slipped behind Ousmane Dembele, Raphinha and Ferran Torres in their pecking order of wingers last season.
Dembele has since left for Paris Saint-Germain, but Ansu was still left on the bench for last Sunday's La Liga opener against Getafe, coming on for just the last 11 minutes of their goalless draw.
United have long been credited with an interest in Ansu, and they can now focus their attentions on signing a winger after addressing their gap at No.9 with the arrival of Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta.
It is understood North London pair Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also keeping tabs on the 20-year-old, but United could be in with a good chance of securing his signature.
Man Utd get PROMISING Amrabat update
Sofyan Amrabat wants to move to Manchester United from Fiorentina despite interest from Liverpool, who recently missed out on both Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia to Chelsea.
The Morocco defensive midfielder - who helped his nation become the first African side to reach the World Cup semi-finals in December - is reportedly desperate to join the Red Devils.
As revealed exclusively by FootballTransfers last Thursday, Amrabat can't understand why there has been a delay in completing his transfer with only two weeks of the summer window left.
United need to sell players before they recruit more, however, with Hojlund, Mason Mount and Andre Onana already signed from Atalanta, Chelsea and Inter Milan respectively.
Man Utd takeover: 'Real concern' over Glazers' next move
There is now growing concern that the Glazer family won't sell Manchester United at all, after nine months of a bidding process which had seen Qatari Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani pull in front as the favourite to acquire control.
According to the Manchester Evening News, there are "significant doubts" about whether a sale will take place at all.
It is understood that brothers Joel and Avram want to retain partial control, which would be folded into the bid from INEOS chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe, but the other siblings would rather sell to Jassim for a higher fee.
The impasse could cost United a new owner, at least for now, although Red Devils fans might console themselves with what has been a busy transfer market, nonetheless.

Man Utd given chance to sign ULTIMATE Harry Maguire upgrade
Man Utd have been handed the perfect chance to sign Marquinhos from Paris Saint-Germain, meanwhile - the Brazil centre-back who would be a significant upgrade on Harry Maguire.
United recently knocked back a bid of £30m from West Ham for Maguire, but that was in the belief they could achieve more for a player they paid Leicester a record £80m for in 2019 rather than him having a future at Old Trafford.
While Maguire has been replaced as United captain by Bruno Fernandes, Marquinhos remains PSG's leader - as voted for by the players - but he has been dropped by new manager Luis Enrique of late.
Danilo Pereira was preferred in pre-season and the Portuguese kept his place for PSG's Ligue 1 opener against Lorient - a goalless draw last Saturday. Enrique subsequently said Marquinhos predicament might not change.
United were first linked with Marquinhos in 2017 when Jose Mourinho was in charge, and now could be a good time to pounce with PSG changing the guard with Neymar gone and Marco Verratti available for transfer.
'Rice and Caicedo were better transfers than panic buy Casemiro'
While Marquinhos would be a calculated purchase, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher doesn't think Casemiro's was.
The Brazil midfielder joined in an £80m move from Real Madrid last summer after United had missed out on Erik ten Hag's top target Frenkie de Jong, and impressed at the heart of midfield, but Carragher has doubts about his acquisition.
"He was a panic buy when he joined a year ago, bought in the immediate aftermath of the failed pursuit of Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona," he wrote in his Telegraph column.
"An ageing, stellar name signed for big money and on a massive salary to appease increasingly disgruntled fans, despite the fact he will need replacing with a similarly massive outlay two years on."
Official: Man Utd sign Brazil international
United completed another bit of transfer business on Friday, with the Women's side signing Brazil forward Geyse from Barcelona.
The 25-year-old joins Man Utd as a replacement for Alessia Russo - the team's top scorer in each of the last two seasons - who left for Women's Super League rivals Arsenal earlier this transfer window.
Geyse joins fellow new additions Evie Rabjohn and Gemma Evans in Marc Skinner’s Red Devils squad for the upcoming WSL campaign - which gets underway on October 1.
Geyse becomes the second Brazilian in the Red Devils squad, with her international teammate Ivana Fuso having arrived three years ago.
