Chelsea are 'preparing an offer' for Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Youssoufa Moukoko, according to a report.

The 18-year-old was once one of the biggest names in youth football, scoring countless goals in age groups much older than him and he initially looked set to carry that form into senior football. He made his record-breaking Bundesliga debut shortly after his 16th birthday and soon also became the youngest player to ever feature in the Champions League.

To date, Moukoko has made 77 appearances for the Black and Yellow and found the back of the net 13 times, also recording eight assists. It must be said, however, that his rise has not been quite as meteoric as some would have expected - but then again, he is still only 18.

The youngster is very much a back-up option at Dortmund and he has only featured in 47 minutes thus far this term. Given his talent, the fact that he is not an undisputed regular in the team has occasionally given rise to transfer rumours and the latest of these rumours involves Chelsea.

Moukoko to Stamford Bridge?

The Blues have made a habit under Todd Boehly of signing some of the world's most promising talents and Moukoko certainly falls into that category. Accordingly, Fichajes believes that Chelsea are looking to the German to solve their scoring woes.

In fact, the Spanish outlet goes so far as to claim that the London club are 'preparing a financial offer close to €30 million to acquire the German footballer."

However, it must be said that this is a spurious claim. Moukoko signed a new deal until 2026 in January and Dortmund would likely demand much, much more for the talented youngster. Moreover, Chelsea will be well aware of the fact that the 18-year-old is nowhere near ready to consistently perform in the Premier League.
