ANOTHER club enters race to sign Liverpool star
Fenerbahce have joined Trabzonspor in the race to sign Thiago Alcantara, according to Turkish media.
On Wednesday (September 13), news broke that Trabzonspor had "pushed the button" on their efforts to sign the Spaniard from Liverpool in what Turkish media dubbed the "transfer of the year."
Signing Thiago would have blown the small coup the Trabzon outfit managed to pull off by landing Nicolas Pepe out of the water, but now a bigger fish has entered the fray if reports are to be believed.

According to Turkish outlet Takvim, Istanbul giants Fenerbahce have made an offer for the 32-year-old midfielder who can still leave Liverpool for Turkey as the Super Lig transfer window doesn't close until September 15.
Thiago to Fener?
Reports claim that Thiago wants out of Anfield because there is no more room in Liverpool's midfield following their transfer revolution in that department over the summer.
When fit, Thiago is one of the best midfielders in the world, but the problem has always been that his body is completely unreliable. Indeed, he hasn't featured at all this season as he is nursing yet another injury, so Liverpool may be tempted to cash in on the 32-year-old while they still can despite being unable to sign a replacement now.

The expectation has always been that Thiago would depart the Reds on a free next summer, but if Liverpool were to take the gamble and let him walk now, they could receive up to €5 million which is the fee Fenerbahce are quoted as having bid.
Fenerbahce are said to be willing to offer the midfielder a three-year deal with an annual salary of €7.5m. However, given that the Reds won't be able to strengthen their team until January, it seems unlikely that they would agree to let Thiago leave.
