Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is 'obsessed' with Jamal Musiala, according to a report.

The Bayern youngster is a massive prospect. After scoring the title-winning goal for the Bavarians on the final day of the season last term, Musiala was expected to really kick on in this new campaign and truly establish himself as one of the world's best players.

Things haven't panned out that way, however. Fitness issues have meant that the 20-year-old has only made two appearances in the league thus far, but he did star and record an assist in the Champions League win over Manchester United.

There have been suggestions recently that Real Madrid are keen on the player, who is currently valued at €94.9 million, down from a peak of €97.7m. But Fichajes now claim that Los Blancos aren't the only interested club.

The Spanish outlet asserts that Musiala is "an obsession of Pep Guardiola" and that "the lack of regularity in his playing minutes" under Thomas Tuchel could see him depart for England.

Musiala open to Premier League move

Whether or not there is anything to this rumour remains to be seen, but it is true that Musiala, who grew up in London, would love to return to England eventually.

The former Chelsea academy kid admitted earlier in the year that he regularly visits London, and in his most recent interview, he did not rule out a Premier League move.

"The Premier League," Musiala told BILD, "is definitely the strongest and most attractive league in the world currently, but I am happy here and focused on being successful with Bayern. But you never know what will happen in a few years."

"I want to be one of the best players in the world," Musiala also said. "That is my ambition. I want to reach the highest possible level in the next year or two."
