Jadon Sancho has no plans to terminate his Manchester United contract despite his row with Erik ten Hag, according to a report.

The England international was left out of Man Utd's squad to face Arsenal at the Emirates with head coach Ten Hag claiming that this was due to bad performances in training ahead of the 3-1 defeat to the Gunners.

"Jadon wasn’t picked on his performance in training. You have to reach the level every day at Manchester United. That’s why in this game he wasn't selected," Ten Hag said.

Sancho, however, vehemently disagreed with this assessment and fired back on social media. “Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue," he wrote, "I have conducted myself in training very well this week."

"I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into," the 23-year-old continued, "I’ve been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!"

A contract termination?

While Ten Hag and Sancho are due for a face-to-face talk in hopes of resolving the matter, there have been reports that Sancho's response could have serious consequences, with the Dutch coach previously showing that he won't stand for indiscipline.

Rio Ferdinand went so far as to claim that the only two options are to ship Sancho off to Saudi Arabia (or Turkey, where the transfer window is also still open) or that he will have to rot on the bench for the season.

Some have also suggested that a contract termination could be the way forward so as to allow Sancho to find a new club, but that appears highly unlikely. According to Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg, "Jadon Sancho is definitely not planning a contract termination!"

United paid an eye-watering €85 million for the winger in 2021 and they will surely be keen to recoup at least a fraction of that sum in the event of his departure.
