Jadon Sancho will look to leave Manchester United during the January transfer window following crisis talks with Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag, according to reports.

Sancho, 23, joined Man Utd for €85 million in 2021, but has struggled to replicate his Borussia Dortmund form at Old Trafford and is now set to push for an exit this winter.

That is according to the Daily Star, who have reported that Sancho is expected to leave Man Utd on loan in January before aiming for a permanent exit during the 2024 summer transfer window.

Sancho and Ten Hag have been involved in a public bust-up during the international break after the Dutchman stated that Sancho was excluded from Man Utd’s squad to face Arsenal due to poor effort in training.

That caused a stir online, which was exacerbated when Sancho hit back on social media, posting on Twitter: “Please don’t believe everything you read!

“I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue, I have conducted myself in training very well this week. I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into, I’ve been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!

“All I want to do is play football with a smile on my face and contribute to my team. I respect all decisions that are made by the coaching staff, I play with fantastic players and grateful to do so which I know every week is a challenge. I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what!”

Dortmund are monitoring Sancho

Sport Bild have reported that Borussia Dortmund are keeping tabs on Sancho’s situation at Man Utd, but are unlikely to make a move due to the finances involved with such a transfer.

The Bundesliga side are interested in re-signing the former England international, who has lost his place in the Three Lions set-up since moving to Old Trafford, but his salary is simply too much for BVB to afford.

Furthermore, the German side reportedly don’t have the funds to pay the required transfer fee either. Dortmund spent €62.7m this summer, with Felix Nmecha, Marcel Sabitzer, Niclas Fullkrug, Julian Hettwer and Paul-Philipp Besong joining for a fee.
