The mystery Saudi club that is interested in Jadon Sancho has been revealed - but a move is unlikely to materialise.

The England international fell out with Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag in the wake of the Red Devils' 3-1 loss to Arsenal last weekend. The Dutchman did not deem Sancho's training performances in the build-up to the clash satisfactory and elected to omit him from the matchday squad.

"Jadon wasn’t picked on his performance in training. You have to reach the level every day at Manchester United. That’s why in this game he wasn't selected," Ten Hag said after the game.

This prompted the 23-year-old to hit back at his manager on social media. “Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue," he wrote in a post that is still live, "I have conducted myself in training very well this week."

"I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into," Sancho continued, "I’ve been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!"

Rumours about a potential departure have abounded in the wake of this. With most European windows already closed, Saudi Arabia has emerged as a potential destination.

Mystery club named

Indeed, earlier today (September 7) it was reported that an unnamed Saudi club had made an offer to Sancho. CBS now claims that Steven Gerrard's Al-Ettifaq - not one of the Public Investment Fund-owned big four - could make a 'dramatic' late loan offer to Man Utd for their €85 million man.

However, the ever-reliable David Ornstein from The Athletic reports that a move is unlikely to materialise before tonight's Saudi Pro League deadline. He states that Sancho is indeed admired by the Saudis but a deal won't happen.

Al-Ettifaq already have an England international in their ranks in the form of ex-Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, who recently made headlines with an explosive interview on his Reds exit.
