The Dutchman has sparked something of an internal war at Manchester United. He decided to leave Sancho out of his squad to face Arsenal and explained that this was due to his poor showings in training ahead of the 3-1 loss to the Gunners.

"Jadon wasn’t picked on his performance in training. You have to reach the level every day at Manchester United. That’s why in this game he wasn't selected," Ten Hag said.

This prompted Sancho to hit back on social media. “Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue," Sancho fired, "I have conducted myself in training very well this week."

"I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into," he continued, "I’ve been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!"

Despite this issue escalating beyond what Ten Hag likely expected, the Man Utd boss stands by his comments.

Sancho faces disciplinary action

That's at least according to the Manchester Evening News, which writes that "they [sources] said that Ten Hag believes he explained clearly the reason for omitting Sancho and that there is nothing else to add to those words."

Moreover, it is said that the England international could now face disciplinary action as Ten Hag has previously shown that he will not tolerate what he perceives to be indiscipline.

Ten Hag and Sancho are due to meet for a face-to-face talk this week, according to Fabrizio Romano. Rio Ferdinand believes that the only way this issue ends is with Sancho either biting the bullet and heading to a country like Saudi Arabia where the transfer window is still open or that he will be forced to watch Man Utd from the sidelines this season.
