Sancho EXILED by Man Utd after bust up with Ten Hag
Jadon Sancho will train away from the Manchester United first team after his bust-up with manager Erik ten Hag last week.
The 23-year-old held talks with Ten Hag earlier this week after reacting on social media to his manager’s public criticisms surrounding his performances in training.
Sancho described himself as a ‘scapegoat’ and claimed his manager’s words were ‘completely untrue’, which led to a meeting between the player and Ten Hag, with director John Murtough also taking part to help de-escalate the situation.
NO MORE: Sancho has 'had enough' after Ten Hag spat
However, for the second time in ten months, Sancho will formally take time away from the first team, having been deemed ‘physically and mentally’ unable to play for the club in December last year.
Sancho eventually returned to the first team in mid-January but, despite being a regular feature towards the end of last season, the forward has only appeared as a substitute in this campaign.
United released a brief statement reading: “Jadon Sancho will remain on a personal training programme away from the first-team group, pending resolution of a squad discipline issue.”
Sancho paying the price after risking wrath of Ten Hag
Sancho still has three years remaining on his contract at Old Trafford, where he is one of the club’s highest earners, with a wage thought to be around £300,000-per-week.
The England international has proven underwhelming since signing from Dortmund for £73 million in 2021, scoring nine goals in 58 games.
United had reportedly looked to sell Sancho this summer but the player was unwilling to leave despite Saudi teams being quoted an asking price of £65m and no transfer was ever close.
REVEALED: Man Utd's demands for Sancho exit
The winger is believed to have had issues with his discipline and time-keeping towards training, leading to frustrations from Ten Hag as well as, allegedly, teammates and he now faces an uncertain future at the club.
Sancho’s absence leaves United further short-staffed at right-wing, with Antony also spending time away from the club after accusations of assault from multiple women in his native Brazil.
