Revealed: The SIX clubs interested in Benfica starlet Antonio Silva
Benfica defender Antonio Silva is being watched by six clubs ahead of the January transfer window.
FootballTransfers revealed Liverpool’s interest earlier this year, as they looked to build on their backline ahead of the new season. Now 90min has reported that there are five other clubs all vying for the youngster’s signature.
Indeed, it is thought that Manchester United, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are also keen on Silva, as each side had representatives in attendance at the Tehelne Pole Stadium to watch the UEFA European Championship Qualifier between Slovakia and Portugal earlier this month. The game ended 1-0 to Porgual, while Silva started alongside Ruben Dias in a 4-3-3 formation.

Silva’s release clause
Benfica had a number of inquiries during the summer but they told each one that they would have to match the centre-back’s release clause of €90million.
Silva is a client of Jorge Mendes’ Gestifute and so is expected to make a big money move next year.
The youngster may have a number of proposals on the table in the coming months, given the level of interest in him, while it’s thought that any switch would be to a huge club where he can be offered regular game-time and more.
Silva has made 45 appearances for Benfica in total, withstanding the matches he played for them at youth level. The 19-year-old has netted five goals during that period and become one of the best talents in the country.
