Bayern legend rejects Premier League move in favour of Munich return
Bayern Munich are closing in on a deal to bring club legend Jerome Boateng back to the Allianz Arena.
Boateng has been a free agent since his contract with Lyon expired in the summer.
The veteran centre-back was released after two miserable seasons in Ligue 1, where he started just 25 Ligue 1 games.

However, the 35-year-old could be presented with one final chance to compete at the highest level.
Bayern are set to sign him in a move to increase their depth at the centre-back position.
Bayern’s options came into focus in the DFB-Pokal as head coach Thomas Tuchel had to play Leon Goretzka and Noussair Mazraoui at the heart of the defence.
Boateng rejects Premier League move
TEAMtalk are reporting that Boateng rejected the chance to play for Sean Dyche's Everton side.
The Toffees are 16th in the Premier League table, having won just won game in the 2023-24 season.

It comes as no surprise that the German would prefer a move to Bayern, regardless of his nationality.
And, Everton wouldn't have been his first taste of English football, having joined for Manchester City in 2010.
Boateng started 14 league games for Roberto Mancini's team as they finished third in the table.
