Chelsea target 'unlikely' to leave in January
Aaron Ramsdale’s situation at Arsenal has alerted Chelsea, according to reports, but the England international is unlikely to leave Mikel Arteta’s side during the January transfer window.
Ramsdale, 25, has been usurped as Arsenal’s number one goalkeeper in recent weeks, with David Raya now Arteta’s first-choice in between the sticks.
Raya joined the Gunners on loan from Brentford this summer and has now started each of their last eight matches in all competitions.

As a result, Ramsdale has been linked with a move away from the club and Chelsea are keeping an eye on his citation at Arsenal as they ponder signing another new goalkeeper.
The Blues sold Edouard Mendy to Al-Ahli during the most recent transfer window, while Kepa Arrizbalaga was loaned to Real Madrid after a season-ending injury to Los Blancos’ Thibaut Courtois.
In turn, Chelsea purchased Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic to replace the aforementioned two players, with the former given the number one role by Mauricio Pochettino.

However, Sanchez was at fault for Declan Rice’s goal in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw against Arsenal on Saturday, with the Spaniard passing the ball straight to Rice for the England international to curl the ball into an open net.
In the aftermath of that mistake, several Chelsea fans have called for Sanchez to be replaced as their number one ‘keeper, with Ramsdale’s name mentioned as a possible replacement.
Will Ramsdale join Chelsea?
TEAMTalk’s Dean Jones has now reported that Chelsea are considering new goalkeeper options for 2024 and they are monitoring Ramsdale’s situation at Arsenal.
The Blues are reportedly happy with Sanchez, but are continuing to look for another goalkeeper and Ramsdale is being considered.
However, Arsenal don’t want to sell the Englishman and Ramsdale would have to push for an exit himself. TEAMTalk have reported that Ramsdale is unlikely to do this and therefore, a January move is extremely unlikely.
Furthermore, Arsenal value Ramsdale at roughly €70m, which could make a potential transfer difficult given Kepa Arrizbalaga’s failures at Stamford Bridge following his €80m transfer to the club.
