Klopp brutally mocked for Liverpool v Tottenham replay demand
The internet neither forgives nor forgets - and Jurgen Klopp is finding out the hard way.
The Liverpool boss is being torn to shreds on social media after voicing his belief that the controversial game that saw his nine-man Reds lose to Tottenham should be replayed. With the score 0-0, Luis Diaz had a goal erroneously chalked off for an offside that wasn't.
What made the Tottenham call so egregious and sparked this drama is the fact that the refereeing crew agreed that the offside call was wrong but poor communication led to the goal being chalked off anyway. The Liverpool coach is actually correct in asserting that this was unprecedented because it wasn't simply a bad subjective decision or a technical issue, it was a complete and utter failure to do their job properly by the refereeing crew.

"It's important that we deal with it in a proper way," Klopp said. "They didn't do it on purpose, we should not forget that. It was a mistake. I think the outcome should be a replay, that probably won't happen. The argument against is that everyone will ask for them, but this situation is so unprecedented."
Twitter responded to Klopp's comments ferociously and in typically hilarious fashion...
FFS no one at Liverpool has asked for a replay!

With that logic Tottenham should request for the 2019 Champions League Final to be replayed.
Fine when it suits you Jurgen. https://t.co/xSaeCQ45tJ— Spurs Xtra (@Spurs_Xtra) October 4, 2023
“Worry about other stuff”
That was Klopp’s comment to Ryan Mason regarding the incident where Jota kicked Skipp in the head.

We told the whole of Twitter that we didn’t want a replay and he just said he wants a replay. pic.twitter.com/zVY4WRmkRN https://t.co/XyvkQOfyMv
